Cannot wait for this game to be over. Blood pressure just peaked at 300.
I will be uploading the many photos I took from last nights 6-4 win over the Capitals in the morning. Keep an eye on my page (here) or twitter (@ChiSports_News).
The Government may be shutting down but its okay because today is the first day of regular season hockey. But wait it gets better, in addition to this our Defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks get to partake in some pre-game activities. Can anyone say BANNER and RINGS?

It’s now starting to feel like every year I get this feeling, a feeling that can only be described as sadness. Its a combination of the weather change here in Chicago and the realization that the White Sox and Cubs are yet again going nowhere.
To ease my frustrations about Chicago baseball, I find it helpful to watch highlights of successful teams and then look for negative aspects that I am used to seeing every day. So Monday evening when I got home from watching the Sox and Cubs highlights at my local bar, I went right to my computer and started looking for something that I could empathize with.
It was right around this time that I stumbled across a video detailing Manny Machado’s Knee injury. I guess I had to deal with Beckham’s hand injury all year, so I felt better that it wasn’t as serious as Machado’s injury. From there I jumped to Anaheim where a swarm of bees prevented play to be continued temporarily, which really just made me laugh. I quickly became so entertained by all of the baseball related videos, I lost track of time and how sad I was for my Chicago teams.
I knew my night was coming to an end when I saw Mariano Rivera in a thumbnail. I felt it was fitting that this video be the last of the night as it was the most meaningful and getting rather late. Now I am by no means a yankees fan, but I can recognize an icon when I see one no matter what jersey he is wearing.
Sep 29. will for me be the most memorable day of the season. First off its the last day I will have to suffer through nine innings of little league baseball, which im assuming is going to feel rather liberating. Although this is great for me and all of Chicago, its not the reason this day will be remembered.
For baseball fans all over the world Sep 29. is the end of an era, and a storied career that will go down in history as the best by a Closing Pitcher. In addition, the 29th will also mark the last time the number 42 is ever worn on a baseball field.
Sunday will be a day full of emotions, both for fans and players. Some teams will be headed to the playoffs, while others will hit the golf course early. No matter what your teams status is, you can look forward to seeing if Rivera gets one last save opportunity.
Baseball is sport of patience, skill, agility, power and undying love for the game. It is a sport where anything can happen at any given time, sometimes even for no reason. From this years web gems, to those rookies who went above and beyond, the 2013 has been a memorable one, see you all on the other side.
Bears: DT Melton out the rest of the season with ACL tear sustained in last nights 40-23 win over the Steelers.
